Flower seed wedding favors?

My fiance and I are getting married in June. Since we are going to have wildflowers for our wedding, we were thinking about having flower seeds for our wedding favors. My mom found this site where you can order personalized flower packets and small white flower pots. The flower seeds would be $1.25 per packet and the pots would be $.25 each.

My mom also found seed packets at the dollar store for $.10 each -- they wouldn't be personalized or quite as cute, but they are a whole lot cheaper. We could still decorate the pot with blue ribbon to look really nice.





My questions:


1. Would flower seed favors be a good or bad idea?


2. Do the white pots look too cheap?


3. Should we get personalized seeds or dollar store seeds?

Flower seed wedding favors?
I say just go with the plain seed packets. At a recent wedding we were at, we received forget-me-not seeds, and planted them the next summer - and we DID think of the couple who gave them to us, as we looked at the flowers all summer.


The pots are fine - I'd stick a little spanish moss in each one, then the seed packet.

Reply:Definitley get the dollar store stuff with that many guests, with the caligraphy you can decorate the pots...put a ribbon on it and write something symolic of "Love Grows" or something sweet.

Reply:heres what you can do... get the dollar store seeds... but buy some tule and ribbon and make your own pouch for the seeds.decorate the pot with the blue ribbion.. and attach a little thank you card tag to the tule seeds pouches... it will be cute..and more personal because you made it not because you paid someone to print out personilzed seed bags








edit: not sure how to exactly do it but you could always try and find square evelopes and decorate them yourself.. you can find sqaure envelopes at any store that sells invitaions
Reply:this is a cute idea. I would personlize the pots if they were plain white, paint on them it will add a cute touch. Flowers seeds are a great idea. if you personalize the pots you could surley get the dollar store seeds

you can use the seeds from the dollar store and make your own recycled paper project.





get construction paper and soak it in water till it starts to break down and get pulpy. you can strain it...


press out the pulp on a cutting board, press with your hands in to a shape or roll out with a rolling pin...


then add your seeds.





you can also just roll out a sheet and cut shapes with scissors after





we made these when i was in girl scouts about 20 years ago lol








i think the flower pots are a really cute idea.


i would get the dollar store seeds and make your own.





it's not that much work and it's sooo much cheaper.





i agree that decorating the pot with a ribbon will add to it's charm.
